BÖWE

BÖWE puts sustainability at the heart of everything they do and they will be making the most of CleanEx to showcase their latest innovations. The company, based in Germany’s Black Forest but with a global reputation, brings nearly 70 years experience to creating the most up to date and high quality perc and MultiSolvent© drycleaning machines. Managing director Frank Ziermann said: “For BÖWE sustainability is not something we add as an afterthought. It is designed in at the core of each and every one of our machines reducing energy and water usage daily for our customers.” BÖWE engineers have considered energy consumption in their designs for many years and Ascot will be a great chance to learn more about how their latest innovations can benefit your business. For instance, a new development is the idea that the machine can decide if solvent needs to be distilled. Ziermann said: “This is known as turbidity measurement and is an optional feature available now on BÖWE PremiumLine machines.” It functions by measuring the level of dirt or colour in the solvent at the end of the first bath. If the solvent remains clear the bath is filtered and pumped back to the working tank saving energy and water. “Savings of 40 per cent of energy and water per cycle are possible,” said Ziermann. BÖWE’s engineers look closely at every aspect of the process and will bring their expertise to Ascot to answer your questions about the details and how they can benefit your business.

BRYANT PLASTICS

With the government targets for net zero carbon emissions Bryant Plastics have, like everyone in the laundry industry, been looking at ways to lower their carbon footprint. Quality and improvement manager Jackie Smith says: “It’s been great to see all the changes and improvements this year. “We realise as a manufacturer of plastic products our carbon footprint is quite high, despite the longevity of our products, so this year we have been on a mission to shrink that carbon footprint. “We have replaced nearly all of our old machinery and installed new machinery which allows us to work smarter, more cost effectively and reduces our carbon emissions.” Bryant Plastics also send all their plastic waste from the manufacturing process to be recycled and because its virgin medium density polyethylene it can be used and reused for probably the next 100 years. This would be another way for laundries to add to their carbon reduction targets. Bryant Plastic’s laundry cages/ trolleys have a long life expectancy of on average 7.5 years, although some of the original cages are still in use and they are over 20 years old.

CLEAR THREE

Staffordshire-based Clear Three will be showcasing their innovative ozone technology at CleanEx 2024, alongside a wide range of green solutions for laundry businesses.

Clear Three explain that ozone technology can be utilised in water or air systems as a 100 per cent organic way to clean and sanitise, replacing conventional chemical-based methods.

The use of ozone sanitation can dramatically reduce time, water usage, energy usage, harmful chemical use and labour costs so they believe it is well worth exploring. Clear Three lists key benefits that include zero toxic by-products, it is 51 per cent more powerful at killing bacteria than chlorine, dissipates in minutes leaving only clean water and is very inexpensive to produce. Clear Three’s other green offerings include a free comprehensive energy audit of your business, creating and implementing an energy management plan to help reduce energy costs and usage and much more. They can also help you with EV charging, business energy purchasing, commercial solar panels, carbon offsetting and heating and cooling solutions.

MAG LAUNDRY EQUIPMENT

MAG Laundry Equipment is excited about their plans for 2024, including sharing their latest developments and enhancements in their offerings at CleanEx. Sales director Kieron Kendall said: “In 2024, MAG is set to introduce their newest product range featuring larger and more advanced commercial washing machines than ever before. Recent innovations have brought forth a host of exciting features designed to elevate user satisfaction and operational efficiency.”

Businesses are already reaping the benefits of MAG’s rapid processing capabilities, with their washing machines and tumble dryers now capable of completing cycles in as little as 18 minutes. These quick cycles translate into time and resource savings, reducing water, gas, and electricity consumption, all while maintaining a high level of quality. “Furthermore, their cutting-edge noise reduction technology ensures quieter machine operation, contributing to a more peaceful working environment,” said Kendall.

MAG Laundry Equipment’s state-of-the-art touchscreen interface empowers you to personalise and closely monitor every element of your washing cycle. Via intelligent sensors, MAG’s machines optimise parameters such as temperature, water levels, and wash duration based on the load, thus conserving both time and resources. “With MAG’s smart connectivity software, they facilitate improved efficiency and machine performance by swiftly identifying and addressing any operational issues. The synergy of our heat recirculation system and optional water recycling tanks enables laundry businesses to maximise efficiency. “Reduced waste and lower energy consumption not only benefit the environment but also boost your profitability.”

In 2024, our primary focus remains on minimising energy consumption while upholding the highest standards in wash, dry, and ironing quality, said Kendall. “The lower operational costs associated with our products have already enabled many of our clients to achieve savings of up to 60 per cent.”

RENZACCI UK

Wetcleaning, laundry and finishing equipment supplier, Renzacci UK, is thrilled to be exhibiting the latest innovative wetcleaning machines at CleanEx 2024. Renzacci UK will continue to showcase next year their cutting-edge range of wetcleaning machines that help the industry become more efficient and sustainable.

One of the highlights at CleanEx will be a washer designed for maximum efficiency, that is capable of using the lowest possible water, energy and detergent consumption. The results are remarkable, as existing Renzacci UK customers have already increased productivity and made massive cost savings. In fact, running an advanced care cycle with this washer is a staggering 21 per cent cheaper to run than an equivalent sized drycleaning machine.

Renzacci UK will also be unveiling an innovative dryer that saves energy due to the ‘moisture balance’ feature which stops the drying process at the right time, along with the gamechanging reversing drum which shortens the drying time and reduces costs. Plus showcase a range of other state-of-the-art equipment, including feature-rich finishing tables and bagging machines, all set to stand out at the exhibit. An award-winning company with over 50 years’ experience, focused on sustainability, Renzacci UK provide user-friendly machines that produce outstanding results and make businesses thrive.

MAXI-PRESS

Back in January 2021, MAXI-PRESS introduced the world’s first antibacterial membrane for all common water extraction presses in laundries and visitors to CleanEx will be able see this innovation which remains a key focus for them next year. The ANTI-BACT membranes are made of an antibacterial material – tested by the German Hohenstein Institute – which actively prevents the formation of bacteria on the membrane surface, said UK sales manager Paul Crookes.

“Maxi-Press are now proud to announce that they have expanded the ANTI-BACT range of products by introducing ANTI-BACT compartment seals for batch washers and ANTI-BACT conveyor belts for extraction presses,” said Crookes. The complete ANTI-BACT range of products ensure more hygienic linen. The linen is protected during the washing and pressing process from possible bacterial contamination. The linen is thus optimally prepared for further processing. This is especially significant for laundries that offer textile services to strict standards, for example the German RAL Quality Mark for hospitals and care facilities. The Hohenstein Test Institute has confirmed the sterility of the ANTI-BACT products with its test seal. After extensive testing, the products are certified with the Hohenstein Quality Label – Antibacterial.

The tests were carried out in accordance with recognised standards, for which accreditation is available from the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH. The test basis was to ISO 22196:2011-08 standards (Plastics – Measurement of antibacterial activity on plastic surfaces) with the test germs ‘Staphylococcus aureus’ and ‘Escherichia coli’. The antibacterial effect of the new ANTI-BACT products is unlimited and to make life even easier, the ANTI-BACT is available in the EASYFIX membrane design with built in fixing ring for all common water-extraction presses. The EASYFIX membranes from MAXI-PRESS can be replaced much easier and faster than standard membranes
