New water and energy specialist for Christeyns Engineering

Dan Bircham has joined Christeyns Engineering division as water and energy specialist to boost the firm’s client servicing capacity as the need for specialist water and energy saving equipment in the laundry sector continues to rise.

Christeyns commercial laundry division are one of the largest players in the sector with over 80 per cent share of the market and they handle multi-million pound contracts working with laundries nationwide. They have been expanding their influence year on year as high-tech engineering systems have become a critical part of the customer offering.

Bircham has been a service engineer for over 20 years, the last five of which have been in the laundry industry. His role will see him visiting large service groups and industrial laundries across the UK, upgrading and installing water and energy saving equipment, providing technical support, repairs and systems advice.

“This is a great opportunity for me; this new role allows me to combine my two passions, engineering and sustainability. It is very satisfying to be able to make a difference on a day to day basis, protecting the environment and helping our clients reach water and energy saving targets.”

Having achieved a Diploma in Environmental Studies, Bircham is currently studying for a BA and is also part of the Christeyns environmental planning group, ‘Project Terra’.

Christeyns Engineering provides systems that help customers save money and improve the efficiency of their operations by recycling water used in the wash process, as well as recovering heat and reducing energy costs. These systems also maximise detergent efficiency along with of dosing management equipment and data collecting technology.
