Manchester-based linen manufacturer and supplier Richard Haworth has been awarded a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III

as Supplier and Manufacturer of Linens, marking a major milestone in the company’s 150th anniversary year.

The Royal Warrant is one of the UK’s most prestigious endorsements

The recognition is one of the UK’s most prestigious commercial endorsements and is granted only to companies that have supplied goods or services to the Royal Household over a sustained period while meeting exceptionally high standards of quality and service.

For Richard Haworth, the award reinforces its position as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of bed, bath and table linens to the luxury hospitality sector.

A milestone year for British textile manufacturing

Founded in 1876 and headquartered at Kearsley Mill, a 240,000 sq. ft. listed Victorian mill near Manchester, Richard Haworth is one of the UK’s longest-established textile manufacturers. The company remains based at its historic site in Lancashire, where manufacturing and distribution operations have continued for more than a century. It is also one of the last remaining cut-and-sew textile manufacturers still operating in the UK.

Family-owned and part of the Ruia Group, the business supplies linens to many of the country’s most recognisable hotels, restaurants and cultural venues, including The Goring, Gleneagles, The Dorchester, Grantley Hall, The Hoxton, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants and The Clove Club.

Recognition of quality and craftsmanship

Royal Warrants are widely regarded as a mark of excellence in British industry, and place Richard Haworth among a select group of recognised suppliers, alongside brands such as Champagne Louis Roederer, Bentley Motors and Twinings.

The company said the award reflects long-term consistency in quality, craftsmanship and service, as well as ongoing investment in sustainable production processes.

Expansion into direct-to-consumer market

The Royal Warrant announcement comes during a period of strategic development for the company. In 2026, Richard Haworth launched “Richard Haworth At Home”, its first direct-to-consumer collection. The range brings the company’s hospitality-grade textile expertise into the residential market, translating its hotel and restaurant heritage into a lifestyle offering for private customers.

With its 150-year history, Richard Haworth remains closely associated with British textile manufacturing at scale, particularly within the hospitality sector.

As the company enters its next chapter, the Royal Warrant is expected to further strengthen its brand position across both commercial and emerging consumer markets, while reinforcing its long-standing reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
