Laundryheap, the UK’s largest on-demand laundry service, launch new schemes to help those affected by coronavirus

Laundryheap, the UK’s largest on-demand laundry and dry cleaning service, has launched a number of new schemes designed to support those most affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

The door-to-door, contactless service – which guarantees a 24-hour turnaround – is offering a 30% discount for all NHS staff. To access this discount, staff must simply schedule their laundry or dry cleaning collection using their NHS work email address, or contact the customer support team for assistance. The discount will be automatically applied at checkout.

To add to these measures, Laundryheap is also proud to be working in partnership with home rental company Under the Doormat to provide Key Workers with fully serviced rental homes during their isolation period – for no cost at all. Laundryheap will be providing guests with freshly laundered linen and towels to their rental homes for the duration of their stay. These free services aim to ease the strain on Key Workers unable to return home for an extended period.

Laundryheap is also launching a ‘pay it forward’ initiative which allows users to book for a neighbour or loved one to have their laundry or dry cleaning collected and processed by Laundryheap, at a time and setting that suits them best. The initiative addresses concerns that many individuals may be struggling with additional home or work responsibilities during this crisis. As well as offer a respite for those in need, or overwhelmed by the changes to their routine.

To treat a neighbour or loved one, users must simply visit the ‘gift card’ page on the Laundryheap website and fill in the form, making sure to leave a personal message. All users need is the email address of the person they’d like to treat to hand. Laundryheap has committed to matching gifts by up to 33%, to ensure users have access to services they need at the lowest possible cost, and their supply chain maintains their much needed work during this time.

These initiatives will be boosted by the launch of Laundryheap’s new high temperature wash service, which will ensure utmost disinfection for all items being cleaned. This service is particularly useful to those coming out of an isolation period whose bedding and clothing may require a deep clean. The company also offers the option to make any of their services contactless, to minimise the risk of contamination. This option can be applied at checkout.

Laundryheap CEO Deyan Dimitrov comments,

“Amidst the current crisis, we wanted to use it to give back to those working hard to keep us safe and healthy, and those needing a little extra support at this time.

“We’ve noticed how keen others are to extend their help to their neighbours and loved ones and we’ve set out to make it easier for them to do so. By extending a helping hand, we hope that our services and new schemes can offer people a sense of normalcy during these very unusual times. The NHS also needs our support more than ever, and we hope our services can help their staff get through the coming weeks and months.”
