Applications now open for travelling scholarships

Laundry Travelling Scholarships

The Worshipful Company of Launderers has now opened the invitation for applicants to apply for places on the 2021 travelling scholarships scheme. The programme will take place in November this year to coincide with the Texcare International exhibition in Frankfurt.

This annual programme provides a great opportunity for up and coming members of our industry to visit operations within Europe to develop specialist knowledge and skills.

Education has always been key for the Worshipful Company of Launderers and in 1963 they formed a charitable and education trust aiming to give scholarships for the ‘further education of people pursuing studies of benefit to the laundry industry’. A committee dedicated to education at the WCL has continually supported industry training courses through considering grants to delegates.

Applicants for the 2021 travelling scholarships programme should work within the Laundry and Cleaning industry and be supported by your employer.

Please apply in the first instance to John Shonfeld, chair of education at the Worshipful Company of Launderers by emailing John@tibard.co.uk.

The following passage is taken from the Worshipful Company of Launderers website:

Education has always been an integral part of the Livery movement and this is reflected within the Worshipful Company of Launderers. A Committee dedicated to Education has historically and continually supported industry training courses through the consideration of course completion grants to delegates. In addition to this, the Launderers’ well established Travelling Scholarship scheme, affords up and coming members of our industry to visit industry locations within Europe to develop their industry knowledge and skills base.
