Laundrapp takes a bite of the big apple with New York launch
The on-demand laundry app, Laundrapp, has announced that it is taking orders from New Yorkers who are keen to free up time by having hassle-free, 48-hour turnaround drycleaning delivered straight to their door.
Founded in 2015, Laundrapp will provide eco-friendly commercial and domestic laundry and drycleaning services to the USA. The company has grown across the UK in the past 12 months, taking the total available cities to 16.
Allan Warburton, Laundrapp managing director, said, “‘After the huge success of our updated app 12 months ago, we’ve focused on our expansion to the US. The primary goal of Laundrapp is to offer excellent clothing care with an unrivalled user experience. We’re now pleased to be able to offer world-leading technology, developed in the UK, combined with the highest cleaning standards to our friends across the pond.”
Laundrapp collects, launders and returns items to the home or office within 48 hours. The contact-free collection and delivery service cleans everything from suits, shirts and dresses to coats, baby clothes, bedding, towels, and other household items. It recently launched a 60C hot wash laundry option to help destroy germs in the fight against Covid-19.
Laundrapp was acquired by Inc & Co in 2020, and in 2021, it became part of Inc Retail. Headed up by Dan Shaw, the group now includes bags and accessories brand KNOMO London, childrens wear brand Tootsa, high street eatery Chop’d and alternative milk GUT Instinct.
Dan Shaw, managing director of Inc Retail, said, “Our Laundrapp team have been working non-stop during Covid with plans for bringing our next-gen technology and outstanding customer service to wider markets. I’m thrilled that we are now taking live orders in New York, and this is all down to the hard work and dedication of Allan and his team.”
Initially, with a launch in the city of New York, there are plans for further states to be added in due course.
