Announcing your finalists

There’s just one month to go before the Laundry and Drycleaning Awards 2022 and we are delighted to announce the finalists.

The judges have worked hard over the summer reading through all the entries across the 16 categories and deliberating amongst themselves over who should make the final cut. Organiser Mark Gleed said: “We are incredibly thankful to our judging panel who give their time and attention to looking through every detail of the nomination packs that are put forward.

The LADAs are now in their eighth year and each year the task of selecting the shortlist has got harder. The quality and quantity of entries has increased as the event has grown from when we started back in 2015.

“On behalf of everyone at MEG Events and Laundry & Cleaning Today I’d like to thank our judging panel – Ken Cupitt, John Shonfeld, Simon Fordham and Ron Davidson. Between them they have such deep knowledge of the industry to help us to identify who is leading the way forward today and we are truly grateful for their continued support and commitment.”

Turning our thoughts towards the event itself Vikas Shah, CEO at Linen Connect, our headline sponsor, said: “The LADAs celebrate excellence, and for us, that is the keyword that typifies this industry. This year perhaps more than most, we are proud by what our industry has achieved.

“We’ve come through stronger, more resilient, and with the skills and business processes we really need to thrive, and that is something which should give us immense pride.”

Justin Kerslake, operations director at Christeyns UK, who also sponsor the LADAs, says: “The awards highlight the achievements on many levels of all those involved and support the innovation that is essential for the future growth of our sector as it moves towards a more sustainable future.”

LES’s MD Paul Haden says about their involvement with the LADAs: “We believe that the recognition of key individuals and companies within the industry is fundamental to the ongoing strength and sustainability of the commercial and industrial laundry sector.”

Tabish Aiman from sponsor SPOT concludes: “If there ever was a time for the industry to come together and network different approaches to the current crisis we face, be it recovery from the pandemic, eye watering increases in energy costs and/ or the labour shortage, that time is now.” Turn to page four to see the list of finalists and details of how to book your place at this prestigious night for the industry.

A WORD FROM OUR HEADLINE SPONSOR

Every single day, without fail, our industry delivers millions of products to the hospitals, hospitality venues, gyms, salons and offices that hundreds of thousands of people rely on in their day to day lives.

Almost invisibly, the supply chain, laundry managers, housekeepers, engineers, drivers, chemicals experts and support teams of the industry come together like a perfect machine to keep this essential value chain operating, like clockwork, day after day, every day. It’s remarkable, addictive, and perhaps therefore the reason why most of us have made this industry our home for the majority of our careers.

For 6 years, Linen Connect has proudly been headline sponsors of the LADAs. The LADAs celebrate excellence, and for us, that is the keyword that typifies this industry. Whether you’re visiting a supplier, laundry, or drycleaner, you will find a sense of duty, excellence, and pride in the work to be done – and every year, the industry comes together as friends to celebrate that talent – the leaders and colleagues who help us do what we do, and grow each and every year. This year, the LADAs has received a consistently high quality of entries once again with hundreds of applicants vying for the coveted crystal awards. We’re excited to meet the nominees, and excited to celebrate with the winners.

This year perhaps more than most, we are proud by what our industry has achieved. We’ve come through years of turbulence with the EU Exit Referendum, a global pandemic and deep uncertainty around commodity and energy pricing. We’ve come through stronger, more resilient, and with the skills and business processes we really need to thrive, and that is something which should give us immense pride.

For us as linen suppliers, excellence is quite literally in every fibre of what we do. From the relationships we have with growers and spinners, through the manufacturing and quality chain, right through to the customer gate. We know how important our products are and pay deep care and attention to getting you the right product, at the right quality, on time, every time. That’s what excellence means for us, and that’s what we’ve been delivering for our customers since 1968. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
