Huge fire takes hold at laundry in Ramsgate
A huge fire erupted in late July at K Laundry in Ramsgate, as reported by Kent Online and the Isle of Thanet news.
Crews spent 31 hours tirelessly tackling the flames and billowing smoke. At the height of the inferno, there were 12 fire engines at the scene of the blaze, which started shortly after 4am on 23 July.
The commercial laundry and linen hire specialist was founded in 1928 and still operated from the original site. It was sold by Clive Jones – grandson of the founders – in 2022 to Essex firm Belmont Laundry, after he took the decision to retire,
The fire service is still investigating the cause of the blaze.
