Electrolux unveils washer and dryer range for commercial small-footprint laundries.

Electrolux Professional has unveiled two low-footprint additions to its new Line 6000 portfolio of state-of-the-art commercial laundry equipment: the WH6-6 washer and TD6-7 dryer.

The new machines, which can be sited side-by-side or stacked in a tower configuration, take up just 0.4m2 of floorspace yet can process up to 70kg of laundry per day.

As with all models within the Line 6000 series, efficiency and ease-of-use were at the heart of the R&D process for the WH6-6 and TD6-7.

The WH6-6 has a drum volume of 53L and a maximum dry weight capacity of 6kg per cycle. It features a front-loaded detergent box with separate bleach compartment and five detergent pumps, and is suitable for either powder or liquid detergents.

The built in Automatic Savings feature weighs the laundry once it has been placed in the drum, and automatically adjusts the water intake to match the actual load. This significantly reduces water consumption and associated utility bills throughout the working life of the washer. An additional Power Balance function allows for real-time unbalance monitoring and G-factor adjustment throughout the extraction sequence, to maximise dewatering and keep moisture retention to a minimum ahead of the drying process.

Both machines are equipped with a smart user interface powered by a new Compass Pro® microprocessor, complete with a large screen for clear operation. Quick-select buttons for frequently used programs and intuitive icons for normal / low temperature, delicates and other options help to further streamline operation.

The TD6-7 dryer also benefits from a moveable display which can be sited at the top or bottom of the machine. This means the control panel remains within easy reach for operators when the two machines are stacked in series. It is available in three different heating options: electric, gas and heat pump; all of which have a 135L drum volume and dry weigh capacity of 7kg. Following the development of a TD6-7 with gas power supply, both the WH6-6 & TD6-7 are now available as a single phase option.

For textile care professionals who are familiar with Wet Cleaning, both the WH6-6 washer and TD6-7 dryer are available in models which can offer Electrolux Professional’s lagoon® Advanced Care Wet Cleaning technology.

Ergonomics have also been factored into the design of both models, to ease the physical burden on laundry operators during busy periods. All models in the Line 6000 portfolio have earned the prestigious Ergocert four-star rating for ergonomics, making them the only commercial laundry machines on the market to reach this standard. The top rating is only awarded after extensive user-testing to prove that they can be operated in a way that can tangibly reduce tension and strain.

Mick Christian, regional training and demonstration manager – laundry at Electrolux Professional UK, commented: “The pressures facing the professional laundry industry are ever changing, and many sites are feeling the pinch when it comes to available floorspace. Our latest additions to the Line 6000 range of commercial laundry equipment are the perfect blend of sustainable performance and compact footprint.

Electrolux unveil washer and dryers

“The WH6-6 washer and TD6-7 dryer condense many of the new innovations synonymous with the larger machines in the portfolio, but in a condensed package. Given the increasing prevalence of Wet Cleaning throughout the industry, both models are available with Electrolux’s industry-leading lagoon® Advanced Care Wet Cleaning technology too.”
