Dorset Laundry devastated by fire
Platinum Laundry Services, in Dorset, sustained significant fire damage on the evening of Monday, December 12.
Fire crews worked for more than three hours to tackle the fire, advising residents worried about low lying smoke to keep their windows closed.
There was still a smell of smoke in the air the following day as a fire investigation gathered information on the exact cause of the fire which, according to the fire brigade, was started accidentally.
In an update online, owner of Platinum Laundry Service Dan Crossman said: “At this stage, the fire investigation team are on site and, together with our Landlord and Insurance Broker we are working on our recovery programme.
“We will need to operate from a different unit – and have instigated our emergency DR plan to work with you to continue to meet your specialist requirements.
We are currently working our way through contacting our customers and our team will be liasing with you directly – together with our support network of other Independent Launders we will continue to maintain supply.
Firefighters remained on scene until shortly before 1am.
