Pop legend Craig David recently transformed a London launderette into a rave venue with a surprise performance that lasted for 15 minutes – the same duration as a fast wash cycle – playing a selection of his biggest hits providing entertainment for customers waiting for their laundry to finish.

The Express online shared news of the event held in August, dubbed the Persil Wonder Wash ‘Fast Wash & Rave’. The event was organised following research into the habits of 2,000 adults.

The study found that those aged between 25 and 34 were most likely to complete tasks quickly before and after their standard 9-5 workday. 20 per cent of respondents reported being active at sunrise or sunset to tidy their homes.

The survey also revealed that 18-24 year olds are the next most likely group to make the most of their mornings, with 40 per cent identifying as early risers. Craig David, who collaborated with Persil for the event, commented: “I’ve performed in some wild locations, but never at a launderette – get that washing in, 15 minutes, play the set and bop bop bop.

“I’m definitely more of an evening person rather than a morning person. My morning routine is to get up, drink water, have a shower – and it’s in the shower where my inspiration comes.”
