Coronavirus: Sneaker Laundry donates PPE Stock to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

[As reported in the Glasgow Times]

SNEAKER LAUNDRY in Trongate has donated remaining stock to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary due to the coronavirus crisis.

Robert Stewart, 41 year old owner of Sneaker Laundry from Gartcosh, said they were packing up the shop to close with Government advice and decided to donate remaining stock to the surrounding NHS areas when they realised it was in need.

Robert said: “We have a warehouse based in Bridgeton where we make our own shoes, and we had boxes of stock from there and the store – safety glasses, protective gloves, paper towels.

“We also had stock from the cafe left and gave it to the NHS workers to enjoy on their break.

“We grabbed as much as possible. We just want to support the people of Glasgow.

“Glasgow has such a community feel.”
