CanDo Laundry Services has continued its expansion strategy with the acquisition of Solo Laundry & Linen Services, a well-established commercial laundry operator with a long-standing presence in South and West Wales.

The deal strengthens CanDo’s operational capacity and regional coverage, adding an established processing site at Kenfig Industrial Estate, Margam, alongside an experienced customer base spanning hospitality, healthcare and industrial sectors.

The move forms part of CanDo’s wider strategy to grow through targeted acquisitions, increasing scale while maintaining a service-led approach across its network.

Solo Laundry & Linen Services has operated in the region for almost three decades, previously trading under a number of names including Dyfed Cleaning Services and Dyfed Laundry. Over that time, the business has developed a strong reputation for providing linen and workwear services to local and regional customers, with a focus on reliability and continuity of supply.

Following completion of the acquisition, CanDo has confirmed that operations will continue at the Margam site, with a focus on integrating the business into its wider group structure while maintaining service continuity for existing customers. The company operates across multiple sites, providing managed laundry, linen rental and textile services to a broad range of end users.

In line with its wider investment strategy, CanDo also plans to review and upgrade equipment and infrastructure at the site over time. This is expected to include improvements to processing efficiency, workflow optimisation and enhanced sustainability measures, reflecting increasing demand across the sector for lower-impact, more energy-efficient laundry operations.

The acquisition comes at a time when consolidation continues to shape the UK commercial laundry and textile services market. Rising operational costs, labour pressures and increasing customer expectations around resilience and environmental performance are driving operators to seek scale and efficiency through acquisition and integration. For CanDo, the addition of Solo Laundry & Linen Services provides not only increased capacity, but also a strengthened position within the Welsh market, supporting its ability to service both regional and national contracts more effectively.
