New improved machines for smaller laundries

Armstrong Commercial Laundry Systems is now supplying a number new washers and dryers from Huebsch and Horizon, for smaller on-premises laundries, which feature various product improvements.

The Huebsch 8kg YWN commercial topload washer has new, easy-to-use electronic touch pad controls which offer much greater cycle flexibility and up to a 29 per cent saving on water consumption compared with the previous electromechanical model. The machine retains all its best-selling features including stainless steel wash tub, steel outer drum, automatic out-of-balance handling system and, most popular of all, cycle times as short as 16 minutes with clear cycle status indicators. The new electronic touchpad controls on the matching YDE/YDG dryer combines temperature and cycle selection in one simple operation – no more rotary controls.

New electronic controls again feature on the upgraded Speed Queen Horizon range of washers, dryers, stack dryers and laundry centres (dryer above washer), with angled control panels that are easier to use than the previous vertical ones. In addition, the washer has a new 97 litre (10kg) drum, 20 per cent bigger than the previous model, but with no extra utility consumption. This is because a 1200rpm spin on final extract produces 440G to remove more water which consequently shortens drying times and dryer energy inputs.
