Jensen hold their first ‘Performance Days’ 04 Jun 2018

In April, the island of Mallorca played host to Jensen’s new ‘Performance Days’ concept and the Laundry & Cleaning Today team were in attendance. Tina Gleed reports.

Back in October 2017 Jensen announced that they were to hold new ‘Performance Days’ to showcase its latest innovations and present new solutions for data management and material handling.

They took over a huge velodrome on the island of Mallorca - 2100 m2 (22,600 sq ft.) to be exact - for seven days and installed a wide range of working equipment, enabling visitors from all over the world to come and discover their newest solutions in a private setting, with plenty of time and opportunity for extensive discussions with exper ts from their global technology centres. 

On announcing the event, Jesper Munch Jensen, Jensen’s CEO said: “In the central show area, we will present the best-in-class equipment, material handling and data management solutions for laundries processing healthcare linen, hospitality linen, garments and mats. We will introduce new products and exhibit some of our well-proven machines. 

“Adjacent to this extensive area is the conference section, where visitors can participate in a number of inspiring lectures and presentations held by external opinion leaders. We respect our own traditions and will round off each day with a Jensen party.” 

And this they did. Very succes sf ul ly. Big dat a , automation , artificial intelligence, laundry robotics and integrated production were some of the central themes. And they report that, over the seven days, they were able to exchange new laundry technologies with more than 1,000 customers from all over the world.

All days were marked by inspiring technical discussions, stimulating exchange of information and a unique atmosphere during the day and a cocktail party on the beach in the evening. 

The event took place from April 23-29 with a packed programme of workshops over the seven days and a range of Jensen equipment on show, including their brand new Senking Universal tunnel washer, the new Jenfeed Logic Pro multi-purpose feeder and their recently launched ALPHA range. 

Keynote speeches explained Jensen’s thinking for creating and shaping the future for laundry automation, their developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics and the true value of big data, sharing how all of this was preparing customers for Industry 4.0. 

Gerda Jank, head of communications at Jensen said: “The Jensen Performance Days were an experiment for us, and we are very pleased as well that everything turned out so well, with many customers from all over the world attending the event.”
