National Apprenticeship Week 2018: 5-9 March 07 Mar 2018

The 11th National Apprenticeship Week (NAW 2018) will run from 5 to 9 March 2018.

During the week employers and apprentices from across England will come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships whilst encouraging even more people to choose apprenticeships as a pathway to a great career.

NAW2018 National apprenticeship week

The theme for the #NAW2018 is ‘Apprenticeships Work’. Showcasing how apprenticeships work for individuals, for employers, for the community and for the wider economy.

This is a topic that’s been picking up pace for the textile care industry in recent months. The Textile Care Operative apprenticeship standard was approved in November 2017 and development around the training and assessment aspect continues.

Many businesses in our industry have their own apprenticeship and trainee schemes and we regularly share news stories of their developments and success. Apprenticeships are a great way to bring new talent into the industry, develop skills and succession plan for the future.

If you’re interested in taking on an apprentice, or reading this and thinking you’d like to explore the idea of being an apprentice yourself, then there’s plenty of resource and information available on the official gov.co.uk website.

There are also events taking place across the week and the gov.co.uk site also has a map, searchable by postcode, so you can identify events that are taking place near you. If you’re a twitter user then follow #NAW2018 for updates and information.
